one hot harvest

We planted a garden way back in April, which did pretty well (tons of zucchini-thanks for the recipe ideas everyone!), but we had a few duds, late bloomers if you will. Now that October is here, the late bloomers have decided to grow and bear all sorts of fruit-spicy, hot fruit-that I don't know what to do with. Our chili peppers are out of control. They're almost as plentiful as our zucchinis were, but not quite. We didn't think the plants would grow, but here they are, 7 months later, offering up chilies galore.

Little red ones....

Long green ones....

It's a chili jungle out there.

Anyway, if you have any good recipes (salsa included) that call for chili peppers, please feel free to share them. I don't want these vegetables to go to waste, I just don't know what to do with 20 chilies.

Muchas Gracias.

Nells- with the Anaheim peppers - roast them in the oven until they are blackened. Put them in a dishtowel for about 1/2 hour and peel off the blackened skin and seed them. Then freeze them because the are great in every mexican meal!
